If you are starting down a medicinal herb path, this is a great tonic to begin your journey. This tonic can be used to aid in immunity and also used to treat common ailments such as colds, respiratory and sinus issues.
I use fresh herbs from by backyard garden. I know that not everyone has that luxury. Use what you have-your kitchen, your rules.
Also, tonics and tinctures are a great time to pull out those glass jars you saved from store-bought items.
After the tonic has steeped for 4 weeks, strain and add an equal part raw honey. Take a teaspoon when you feel a cold coming on or for a boost of immunity. Store the final product in the fridge for up to 6 months.
Final suggestion-label the jar with the name of the tonic and date, especially if you are over 50!
Disclaimer: I like to turn to tonics and tinctures first, but if symptoms escalate I do turn to modern medicine. I am a stage 3 breast cancer survivor and I believe in holistic and natural cures, but I also believe there is a great need for doctors, pharmacuticals and medical advancements. Everything in moderation.
This tonic can be used to treat cold symptoms or as an immunity boost. A teaspoon a day can assist your body in fighting the winter and spring cold season.

Add the herbs to a glass jar and fill to cover with the apple cider vinegar. Place in a cool, dark place. You may need to place a weight in the jar to hold the herbs under the liquid. A smaller glass or shot glass can be used as a weight. After 4 weeks, strain and add an equal part raw honey. Store in the fridge for up to 6 months.
